Monel
Monel, an alloy invented by International Nickel Co, is basically composed of 2/3 Nickel and 1/3 Copper. Monel has excellent corrosion resistance against salt water and in high temperatures.
Our Monel 400 nuts are manufactured in accordance with MIL-S-122H, amendment 3, and with ASTM F467. Most of our Monel 400 nuts are Made in the USA and fully traceable with complete lot control. Chemical and physical reports are available upon request at no extra charge.
Monel K500 is a nickel-copper alloy which combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with the added advantages of greater strength and hardness. The increased properties are obtained by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper base, and by heating under controlled conditions so that submicroscopic particles of Ni3 (Ti, Al) are precipitated throughout the matrix. The thermal processing used to effect precipitation is commonly called age hardening or aging.
