ASTM F594 is the standard specification that covers the chemical and mechanical requirements for stainless steel nuts used with bolts, studs, and other externally threaded fasteners made to ASTM F593.
Alloy Group 1 includes the following Austenitic Stainless Steel Alloys: 303, 304, 304L, 305, 384, XM1, 18-9LW, 302HQ, 303Se
Alloy Group 1 is ideal for general purpose use in less aggressive environments. It provides a balance of corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and cost-effectiveness compared to higher Alloy Groups like those containing Molybdenum (e.g., Group 2).

Alloy Group 2: Type 316 or 316L stainless steel
Condition A: Solution Annealed
Condition AF: Annealed & Strain Hardened
Condition CW: Cold Worked
Typical Applications: Marine hardware, chemical processing, coastal construction, food and pharma equipment
Compatible Bolt Spec: ASTM F593 Alloy Group 2 (Type 316)
